Alright guys, my driver side door recently started making a weird clank sound and it annoys the hell out of me! Sounds like metal to metal. I tried adjusting the latch but no luck, any tips?

Btw the sound is definitely from the latch or the door catch

 

I had a rattle once on another suv that I had that I swore was coming from the door assembly and rattled when I closed the door.

It turned out to be a loose skid plate or exhaust hanger, can't remember.

I'd put the car up on a lift and slam the door a few times.

Unless you have spare change down between the door card, I can't think of what it could be.
