Someone help!!!

got my e60 last week. been reading the book and going thru gadgets etc and seen that there should be a cd changer somewhere. Looked in the glove box...nothing. Just a dangling wire and space where the disc changer should have been.

called up dealer where i got it and they tried to tell me to contact bmw and get one for ?35 instead of driving all the way to kent (dealer location) from london(my location) and spending 60 odd on fuel.

Im thinking thwe bastards should sent me a new one or the old one automatically.

any thoughts lads?

The changer was an optional unit. Some cars are pre-wired for the CD changer. Unless the changer was ordered, it's not included. Units can be found on ebay (and sometimes within this forum). However, if added, coding will be required at the dealer to activate it.

I might sell my CDC since I recently upgraded to Ipod kit. As stated, you will need to be coded for it to work. Your car is basically prewired. Its an easy install that takes all of 10 mins.
Good luck.

The kit cost approx $275 plus shipping from Newport BMW.
I would be willing to sell the CDC for $275 plus shipping.

My Idrive shows six cds to select from, and says logic 7, but I have no 6 disk changer?

*EDIT FOR STUPIDITY* Whatta ya know, had the car since Nov and never realized I had a six disc changer. Went out to the garage, all be damned, there's one in the glove box.
