I can kinda understand a 550 with a manual, but even that doesn't really make sense to me. An e60 BMW is a luxury car and I just can't imagine having to shift a car like this manually. If you're looking for a manual, then buy a 2 seater coupe/convertible sports car, but to me all 4-door sedans should be autos.

The manuel is going to arrive in the september production.
I am in the same boat and hear your frustration as I also prefer stick shift, always has always will. My 'maybe' 535i is counting on being a manuel tranny.

What if you bought your 5 series because you wanted the ultimate sports sedan? Should the M5s (all 6spds until the E60 SMG) have automatic transmissions? I would buy a MB or Lexus if it was all about luxury.
