this issue was raised on the bmw coding forum as the uatobox suffers the pproblem of autodownshifting when in manual mode which is a pita .

there is a solution for it but the post went dead within a few pages and no-one seems to want to help anyone else there no idea why but you seem to have to know the answer to your own question .

anyway the autodownshift can be disabled with an ibac code . problem = you need someone with a working isis /ista/p to generate the ibac code for your from your vin/chassis number

second problem is ,if and when you get the code .what software is needed to enter the code and where in the program do you enter it ?


am i right in believing it can be entered in progman ? assuming theres some clever /know everything there is to know bmw gurus on here .


i would really love to be able to do this as i hate the autobox and couldnt get a manual 530d in the uk (rare as hens teeth)

i would even pay for the coding or correct info + ibac code to do this

so if anyone knows or can do this and would like to share there wealth of knowledge then please do.
