My 06 525i started to has misfire at idle and quite sluggish when I put my foot on the pedal. Mileage is terrible around the 18mpg mark. I ran the test and it shows issues around the DISA valve both sides.
Replacement valves cost around 600 bucks for both so I checked and found the repair kit in this link from Russian guys.
Repair Kit for Disa BMW Engine N51 N52 N52N N52K | eBay
Anyone got experience with this? GAS appears to work on something similar but not commercialized yet.
Would this give me best bang for the buck?
Thanks

I installed the GAS DISA valve kit on my M54 about 2 years ago. I wasn't having a problem, I only installed it because the stock DISA valve flapper pin has been known to dislodge and enter the intake stream causing engine failure.
The kit was of very good quality. It contained everything needed, including a small tube of adhesive, new o-ring, etc. It was easy to install and I am very glad I did it. I trust my rebuilt DISA valve 100%.
I don't know if they offer anything for N52, but if they do I can highly recommend the GAS kit.
good luck.

Ok I bite the bullet and order the kit for the outer valve. Will update the result.
GAS is a respectful company but I couldnt find the kit for N52 though. They said it is underway on bimmerfest but not yet available on their website.

That picture you posted looks identical to what GAS sent me. There's not much to it, it's mainly just an aluminum flap rather than the plastic one and a threaded screw to hold it in rather than the metal 'push pin' that the factory valve uses.

GAS doesn't have a kit for the N52. The two halves of the N52 DISA valve are permanently bonded together so it is a bit challenging to split the part and seal it back up.
FWIW, I removed the broken pieces out of the inside DISA valve on my engine and re-installed it. I got one error message, cleared it, and the computer learned how to adapt for not having the valve. I haven't had an issue since- and it has been 2-years.
