I noticed that the Dutch 550 had a trailor hitch and thus a different rear diffuser ?

Is this something usual in other countries ?

Cheers

Yes, I think you get a different rear diffuser when you order the tow bar. As you may or may not know, our German neighbours make jokes of us Dutch guys because we always drive through their country with caravans, and we can't order a car without one.

The LCI tow bar folds away electronically, at a price of €1400.-

It's really hard to compare equipment and prices between countries. Every piece of equipment or engine are not available in all markets and equipment is bundled in different packages.

In Sweden we have the comfort package: xenon, PDC, leather seats, upgraded climate system ( to the only climate system sold in US). There are also other packages called Advantage and M packages.

In Sweden we get 3 years or 80.000 km of free service with every BMW. Factory warranty is 2 years and can't be extended. Almost all new cars in Sweden have collision insurance for 36 months included when you by the car.

In Belgium, standard specs are the... taxes

- 21% VAT
- First registration tax:
up to 70 Kw - 61,5 Euros
71 to 85 Kw - 123 Euros
86 to 100 Kw - 495 Euros
101 to 110 Kw - 867 Euros
111 to 120 Kw - 1239 Euros
121 to 155 Kw - 2478 Euros
more than 155 Kw - 4957 Euros
- Yearly tax for a 525D 1061 Euros
I am going to buy used 520D 2006 from Belgium and it's power specification is 110 kW, not 120 kW as noted in Wikipedia. Do you know if there are really any differences between Belgium and non-Belgium 520D or this is just a difference in ECU or some chip? Is it possible to chip tune this car to the same maximum as non-Belgium 520D?

P.S. I knew this has something to do with taxes, but I was not sure. I am sure now, though

I found some information on site www.cth.be

I supose the answer to my question from previous message is that 110 kW and 120 kW 520D difference is actually just a chip. They both chip tune to the same maximum of 143 kW and 401 Nm.
