I know that in the interior of the earlier 04's, the bottom of the center console has plastic instead of wood or metal trim. Same at the rear center air vent console...it is plastic instead of wood or metal. Also, the earlier 04's had an all-metal I-Drive control knob. The later models have a leather(?) insert in the center of the control. Some earlier versions one could not get matching metal trim on the dash if there was metal trim on the door handles. I think the cup holders were also improved in the later models becaus of a lot of breakage wtih earlier models. I'm sure there are also other minor differences...but none that I can vouch for.
