My Ride: Due in May 2005 - 535d sport, Silver Grey, Grey Dakota Leather, Maple Wood, Xenons, Adaptive Headlights, High Gloss Shadow Line, 6 CD Changer, M Rear Spoiler

My first post, so here goes.... due to take delivery of 535d sport in early May. Never, ever considered diesel before, not even close. Currently drive 330i SE and thought I was always to be a petrol head. Reading threads would appear I've made a good decision, I hope so.

Reassurance would be appreciated!!

Welcome aboard, andy535d !

You've just made two good decisions:

1. buying an E60
2. becoming a member on E60.net

I'm in exactly the same position as you - I'm just hoping I get used to the slight clatter at 1500rpm - aside from that I'm not too worried!

Andy,

You will love it and I bet you never buy petrol again. The sheer thrust of the car will blow your mind away.
The 535d is an amazing car - maniac acceleration in any gear from any speed. Others will race you and you will play with them like a killer whale with a sealion. (just got back from pub so excuse the description)

Thanks for all the messages guys, I'm really looking forward to it.

As a matter of interest I asked my dealer about changing the wheels to the new 19inch rims. He told me that as the car was being built now the spec can't be changed.

Wouldn't have thought its too difficult to bolt on different ones, anybody come up against this?
