Dealer has just called. Car must come in and be completely reprogramed for the passenger seat occupant detection thing.

I remember a few of you guys discussing this in a thread a week or so ago.

Anyone else had it yet?

 

nope...did they say which build dates are affected? or is it purely all E60s and a software fix is needed.

when you take the car in can you ask them for the recall number then I can always phone the dealer quoting that number and ask them if they need my car in.

 

just called bmw GB customer service...they checked my car reg on the system and it said "no outstanding recalls" so either it only affects certain build dates or it isn't on the computer yet. will wait and see if I get a call.

mine is a slightly older car, they don't make em like they used to you whipper snappers with these fancy dan 04 build cars.

 

yes - mines got to go in again for a software upgrade to rectify the problem.
