when you connect it up your car's lights should come on strong.
Exactly...this is not happening. None of the interior lights are switching on

most likely a bad connection or corrosion on the battery terminals, which will make for a bad connection between the battery and the car.

Normally I'll disconnect the battery when I leave on long trips. Do you have AAA or something similar that can come over and jump for you?

I drive my 545 infrequently and regularly don't drive the car for weeks at a time. I am in the habbit of hooking/unhooking the tender every time I take the car.

I did a quick connect under the hood so it take 30 extra seconds to get under way.

2 weeks can be too long depending on what preceded it. If the vehicle were driven numerous times for short drives before the 2 weeks then it could kill the battery. If the vehicle had been driven for 15+ minutes shortly before the 2 weeks began, then 2 weeks is not long.

This is a terrific design flaw by BMW. I have 2 new BMWs and the batteries go dead often depending on the frequency and duration of my drives... Dealer says it is due to poor driving habits. (A euphamism for short frequent drives)

Yeah....After your reply I realised that I really didnt drove much before I went out of town.

It is really not expected from a car like this...never had this problem in these many years.....

I am calling AAA, but then all they are going to do is Jump the car then I have tried that already....Only thing I can think now is the corrosion on terminals

I will check out when I go home

Yes. I travel frequently and my daily communte is short. According BMW, that killed my battery at 9 months. Dead cell. Now I use a smart "trickle" charger. We all think it's lousy, but it beats the alternative. One of my friends calls it "the electric car" since it's plugged-in all the time.
