My Ride: BMW545i, Black exterior, Beige InteriorSport, Premium Sound Logic 7, Cold Weather, Park Distance Control, Xenon lights
Default

Hello All!!!!

Just got my BMW545i Black/Beige w/ sport package, cold weather, Logic7 sound and Park Distance Control in end of August. Love it!!!! It has been a dream come true.

Just have one problem- it is giving me a "Deactivated Window Anti-Trap" message- first off, what does that mean? And secondly, does anyone know how to fix it or shut if off? Thanks!!

By the way, love this forum, its so informative and fun to read!

Welcome to the best e60 forum on the web! The message is telling you the anti-trap feature for your windows is not working. The Anti-trap is like the feature in the States for garage doors. If the garage door senses something in its path when it closes it will automatically reopen. Your windows and sunroof have the same feature. I would take it back to the dealer (or call and ask if you can reactivae through the iDrive). There is a thread some where on this forum about the windows. You can do a search and find it too.

Again, Welcome!!

welcome aboard, ironhead ! i agree w/gomac. have your dealer re-activate it back for you. it's free of charge and should be a quick 5-10 minutes job.

Welcome ironhead. I've never had that message but I think it is important that you visit your dealer ASAP. Imagine a kid playing around with the windowswitches.. brrrr.. (unless you don't have kids of course).

That's another thing I plan to take care of, but luckily the problem has appeared to solve itself.

Ironhead,
The reason its saying this is because with the latest software they put in the car V13.2 it has a glitch witch deactivates the anti-trap function thay said it will be fixed when V15.x comes out later this year! To make sure it is that try rolling your back windows down if the one touch doesnt work then its the software.
