I followed this procedure last weekend to wire my AE lights to run as DRL. Works like a champ and you don't have to turn on the parking lights anymore to get AE as DRL.

Thanks hairball, but I'm a wiring/electrical noob. I wouldn't dare to try this as I might screw something up.

Independent shops can do it too. They'll charge you about an hour for labor even though it probably takes 20 minutes. Next time you go to the dealer for an issue other than your DRL's, casually ask the SA to do it. That's what I did and they charged me an extra 30 minutes labor. Still a rip, but I like it better without the DRL's.
