My Ride: Jet Black 2005 BMW 530. Premium/Sports Package, Black Leather, Chrome Star Spoke alloy wheels, Automatic Transmission, Adaptive Xenon Headlights...
I took my vehicle for service last week, and when I got it back I noticed that the running lights were not on. Does anybody know if this is something I can turn on myself or do I have to take it back to the dealership? THANKS!!!

Just to chime in, in older U.S. cars, the DRL is NOT an option that can be selected in the iDrive. The dealer must set this option for you. Sounds strange but that's the way it was. Not sure if can become an iDrive selectable option with a software upgrade or not.

What about using the new brighter Angel eyes for DRL for older e60's? Anyone know if this will work?

I have a May 06 build MY07 550i. DRL is not an option on my idrive. I just had the dealer turn them on for me. Its the inner lights that stay on. I wonder whether I need a newer software version. When you say "older" cars do you mean 07's and back.

I seem to recall that at least the LCI cars in the US did have the option in the iDrive so maybe that is the change over. All I know is that my MY 2004 does not have the ability to turn on/off DRLs in the iDrive. I only responded because the early responses all came from our European friends who have always had that option available.
