I have a 2008 535XIT, got in the car this morning and got a message that the left daylight running lights are dead.

Is this typical?

Maybe the first bulb was faulty from the factory, and when the bulb was replaced the technician might have touched the glass...which shortens the bulb life-span...I would just install the H8 bulb yourself...might as well get GP Thunder 8500k H8 bulbs.

I had the right side go out on my 2008 550 back in November. On Monday, the left side went out... Rudy had one fail as well so seems to be fairly common.

It is sad, reminds me of my old Volvo that had the daylights fail every year or so.

If you are going to make a daylight system it should be designed for long life.

Yes they will replace it for free just the hassle of taking it in.

It's REALLY easy to replace the bulb... And you can pick them
up for a couple bucks...

I need the brake fluid changed as well so might as well let BMW do it.

I never had a problem with my X5 is the bulb different?
