My 7/2006 build 2007 e60 550i is currently at my dealer getting off-lease CPO'd. I had heard that there was a "software" update that would allow pre-LCI e60's to run their AE as DRL. Well, he called me back and told me this response:

Curt,
We tried to do the retrofit, or at least what sounded like the retrofit. When we went to finalize and accept the update it called for a new lamp module so we backed out. Not sure where it would have gone but had the possibility of getting kind of hairy. Sorry.

Does that mean all I have to do is purchase a new LCM and I should be good to go? As usual, any help is mucho appreciated.

Which cables? I assume that you need post LCI headlights?

Does anyone know how to turn the day time running lights off on an e60 with out going to the dealer?
Since your car is an 06' like mine you have to go to the dealership, it cant be done through the idrive like newer years can.
