I have a 2005 545ia Sport that I would like to have the engel eyes as my running light.
Currently the inner lights are on during daytime running. I don't have any options in the Idrive to change this.
By the way what are "LCI" cars?
Thanks

Only the LCI has the AE as DRL...
I have 2006 525D SE it has the option to turn on DRL in iDrive. When activated nothing lights up unless the light switch is in auto I'm assuming this is correct ?
I seen lots of threads about Angel Eyes, I have standard lights (not xenon) are the AE's a sperate bulbs or side lights ?
P.s this is my first 5 series upgraded from a 3.

You could rewire your ae to always be on with ignition on i did it on mine worked like a charm
I have to turn the knob on and off every time I enter/exit the car, kinda annoying.

I'd like that DIY too, but I think there's a DIY in the DIY section that shows you how to rewire the lights to have the AEs act as the DRLs - which is, I believe, the DIY that you all were refering to.

Searched through the DIY section for ya and I couldn't find the DIY of how to rewire the lights, but I'd imagine it is a pretty simple affair - you'd go into the headlight and swap the DRL bulb wiring and the AE wiring...
John, Mike, any help, please?
