data transmission fault

but do u know why it would say data TRANSMISSION fault if it isnt the transmission thats faulty

your car automatically TRANSMITS data to the dealer. it has nothing to do with the actual transmission.
i always thought it had to do with not subscribing to the bmw concierge service or something. regardless, just ignore it.

transmission meaning "transmit" as in sending data. i assume this is exactly what BMW wanted and was successful in that when the customer see's the word "transmission fault" they freak out and run to the dealer thinking there actual tranny is bad. they got me too. then while your there, let the upselling begin!!!!!!
