Update: The CD player did in fact malfunction on demand for the service tech and the new one is going in today. Also had an issue with the rear suspension, something called a stabilizer link, which literally caused an annoying squeak everytime I sat down in my car. Both parts had to be ordered so I'm driving the loaner for one more day. I asked for a 335 but they only had 325's to loan...
kscarrol,

I have the same problem. How did you reproduce the problem at dealership?

To be honest I don't know. I described the issue and left it at the dealer. SA called back and said they were replacing the unit. As I recall the paperwork mentioned a SIB associated with a known problem. Unfortunately I keep my car records at the office and will have to get back with you tomorrow with more detail.

I look forward to the SIB number and what said on car repair record.

Thanks in advance!

Man is my memory getting bad! Sorry, no SIB number. The SA put it in as "CD player clicks at times and does not play. Open a PUMA case #8602825". The says "replace M-ASK, repogram car PUMA Authorization number..."

His description is not totally accurate to my issue as it was a mechanical clicking from the player itself, like it was trying to engage the disc but couldn't. The SA desribed it as popping noise through the speaker. Either way the M-ASK unit which has the CD player built is was replaced and the issue resolved.

I just had my M-ASK replaced by the dealer for the same problem. Replacement part# is 65126942520, which is a remanufactured unit.

For those who replaced M-ASK, did the problem come back on replacement unit?
