welcome aboard, little !

to be fair, you might want to test drive a m45 and a a6 as well. test drive the 545 last just because you will stay there longer to sign all the papers .

First of all, welcome aboard. The payments for your lease is will depend on your credit report (risk), money factor (simply interest rate for leasing) and how much $$$ you are putting down (cap. cost reduction).

I live in North Jersey and leased my 545I with cold weather pkg, Nav., heated rear seats, sports pkg, and etc. and I am paying $696 w/$3500 down.

haha, i wish bro, i think i'm almost definetly set on the Bimmer. I still haven't driven the car due to the bad weather we had the past 4 days, and now i'm sick doh. Only thing is, before i can actually make a move, i have to sell the Benz first. I don't think i wanna do a trade in as i would prolly get raped in the deal.

[the Acura RL...] but the interior is gorgeous.

The [545] interior is a little blah like the lexus GS, but still nice.?
I hear of what you speak... why is it Ferrari simply cannot do wrong on exterior's and Acura can do no wrong on interior's? From my vantage point, copy the exterior of a Ferrari and the interior of an Acura and you win.

I'm more than likely going to buy a 545/550 or a 745/750 (to replace my aging E39 6spd 540) but must admit how very dissapointed I am with the 545 interior... can't help but feel it's a 3 series interior. That said, it seems that's the way the world is moving as every interior seems to be getting crappier and crappier (save the Acura's... go figure).

Fortunately for BMW, the tuning notes of the 545's exhaust is seductive to say the least, and the driveabilty (as always) is second to none.

I look forward to the day when other marques can say the same...

Little,

Everyone is on the edge of their seat. Keep us apprised!

As to my first month of 545 in the NJ snow, had to be pushed out of a friends inclined driveway last week (probably knew it going into it, though) not really that big of a deal for me and probably wouldn't have happened if I had some A\S's or snows on it. I plan to get them for next season as I am being optimistic about this snow season being almost over.

As to your lease payments: for my 545\sport\nav\voice\premium sound pkg\sat radio\rear folding and front comfort seats\cold weather pkg, my payments are at $799 w\15k annual miles, $1800 down for 1st mo security, 3yrs of registration and destination chg ($695). Oh an there was another $500 for tire\wheel hazard insurance offerred at my dealership which I highly recomend if you get the sport pckg as you will use it. It saved me a couple of times on my last 540. Generally, the tires always need to be replaced for any flats and even some of the smaller potholes did me in!

You will probably now find some differing lease info as i beleive there are very few '05s around to be had. They claim their multipliers change every month. You might be interested to note that there is not that huge of a difference between monthly lease payments between a 530 & 545. At least when I bought, there were much more favorable programs for the 545 than the 530 which brought a similarly equipped 530 w/in $40-50 bucks of the 545.

My list of annoying technological quirks:
Takes like 3 steps to change a station from the idrive (although you can skip to the next station on the steering wheel);
The park distance control\screen boot up is ridiculously slow (although I am advised there might be an upgraded chip for this);
You can set the nav to the right, smaller side of the screen with entertainment\computer information on the left larger screen, but not vice versa;
Hate the key in ignition reminder chime which continues to sound long after key removed;
Hate Hate the seat belt chimes and the punishment of witholding screen & instrument cluster info in place of "Fasten Seat Belt" display;

My list of really cool stuff:
Naturally the power\handling\ride, even the active steering has become a friend!
Much quieter than my 02 540;
At your fingertips idrive control;
Comfort seats!;
Anthricite wood trim in the dark interior;
Memory for seat & steering wheel heat upon restart after a quick stop;
Love love love the premium sound\sirius sat (my 540 "sound system" sucked)

Waiting to congrat you on a new 545!
