i think it was member here in socal that a valet curbed his wheels...he did end up finding a repair service tho IIRC...

also, not sure if son tran can repair polished wheels, but I've used him before for oem wheels and he is heavily recc'd on e90posts..

give him a call, it's worth a shot: Son Tran (Onsite Wheels) 714-742-6855

also truwheel in North Hollywood: http://www.truwheel.com/ (yes the site is uber cheesy, but I've heard good things about their work)

That's the guy I was thinking of.

If it is just polished with no coating, you can sand it down and just re polish.

Ouch

Are those 3pc or 2pc wheels? If 3pc, you should be able to find someplace that can order just the chrome lip for you. Most of the wheel companies use the exact same lips/barrels. Last time I called around (due to a BBK clearance issue) I was getting quotes for around $450-$500 for the entire barrel (chrome lip + inner). I would venture to guess just the lip replaced would be around $250-$300? Repairing it is probably cheaper but if you wanted to just replace it, multi piece wheels give you that option.

Thanks guys!

It's a 2pc wheel. Yeah, that truwheel site is cheesy. LOL! The thing is, if this happened about a year from now, I wouldn't worry too much, but I've been driving around with these for only about 2-3 weeks! I have been paranoid that my wife kept bugging me because since I got the wheels, I've been parking far from the curb. I mean using the maximum 18" away from the curb legal limit. So wouldn't you know it, that night I figure "okay I'll park closer" then I get distracted and gggggrrrrriiiinnnnddddd!

I'm tempted to do the DIY I linked above since I have all the tools. However, I think I'll call a pro this time. If it happens again, then I'll DIY.

Been there, done that!!! It can definitely be fixed to look brand new. You will never be able to tell the difference. I use WheelsAmerica. They have one close to you. www.bentrim.com As a matter of fact, my wheels are there right now seeing if we can work on a problem much bigger than yours. Your problem is childsplay!!! Take it to them. They do excellent work!

Ouch! That hurts

BMW should invent / install the equivalent of side-facing park distance control!

I use the tilting passenger side mirror for this purpose. I usually back into spaces because of it.

I actually ended up curbing my wheel due to the tilting feature, now I just make sure to do it manually, takes a few secs and gets to the height I need/want
