The cupholders in the car are OK, but I think they were designed for Europeans and not the larger is better US philosophy. You can put a small coffee or can of pop in them and they stick like glue. But no 32 ounce super-gulp will fit. My wifes Ford and my old oldsmobile were designed for the Extra large cups. I guess BMW is more concerned about my health than the other manufacturers.

"can of pop"

would that be the same as a Coke?

It's a north vs. south thing....

Wondered if anyone would notice that. Pop sounds normal when you say it, but looks strange when you type it. I could also have said "soda"

BMWs have never been about cupholders-e39 had even worse ones, absolutely worthless...you are not supposed to enjoy your beverage in BMW,rather concentrate on driving and enjoy that,it's like almost they did not want you to have it while driving!

Certainly not designed for UK where cans are near impossible to buy, just 500ml bottles that fall out when you accelerate.

And don't even think of placing a tall stemmed glass of Liebfraumilch in the cup holder.

The phrase "pop" is a Midwestern US thing ... "soda" is from the Northeast ... and down South they just say "coke."

Yeah and I was just about to bring that glass of wine to my car so I can have something to drink while driving and I saw that logo and realize you can't put wine glass in there The logo shows that the lawyers at BMW is working hard to avoid any kinds of liabilities.

How about soft drinks and carbonated drinks, where does those originated. I use pop or soda, didn't realize there's so much problem with that.

I don't think you can use coke when you want coke cause from my experience those restaurant serving Pepsi will tell you they don't have coke <_<

while these cupholders aren't a dream for most of you...coming out of a last gen Audi A4 (2002-2005.5) the even more worthless cupholder was placed in an even MORE worthless spot. Right above the radio. There have been a few instances of damaged radios not covered under warranty on that side. I personally never have a problem because there are no open beverages allowed in my cars.

I must not accelerate fast enough. And, I am trying my best. I tried this morn. with my G-Tech. Way too much wheel spin. Back to the drawing board. I am thinking of starting in M2 on very cold mornings (32 F this morn.) and letting the Step kick down. Well see how it works.
