Ctek battery tender/charger question
So I finally got a ctek battery tender/charger. I don't go on vacation much, but a couple years ago it managed to kill my e60 battery. So low and behold after the last holiday trip of like 6 or 7 days I had a high battery drain on my e60. I just overnighted a ctek charger, can't remember the model, I believe 7amp 12 volt.. and I hooked it up and have been merrily on my way. Now the weird thing is that I had left it plugged in for a couple of days over the weekend, and the display never changed. Ie there's the green battery light, but the flickering orange "charging" light is still on. To me it means it's still charging rather than maintaining unless I understand wrong from the instructions. You'd think a couple days would solve it? Just over president's day weekend I realized on a Sunday that I left my OBDII adapter plugged in, so I took it out and hooked up the charger again. Another full day later and still the same flickering orange light. No harm no foul, the car is working fine, but that kind of bothers me. Can someone tell me that's just the way it's going to be?

I have the Multi US 7002 and run it in 'normal' mode. It steps through the charging steps and once charged sits with a steady green light by the rightmost icon. Right now it's doing duty float charging my X5 that has a parasitic load problem that kills the battery after a day or so. Better to keep it charging than a dead battery at -20C.

Nice picture! I think mine unfortunately is the "cheaper" model with less indicators as to what "mode" it's currently on. I only can cycle between small battery, car battery, and -20C maintain. Then I have a couple indicators. Oh well.. it works

Maybe it is still charging but in float mode. You can check with a voltmeter to see what is going on. It should float at around 13.5-13.9 VDC.

Good call.. I guess I could check the voltage, I don't believe the instructions actually said what voltage each "stage" is. Maybe next weekend I'll hook up the charger for a couple of days and see what it says along the way for voltage.
