So an update after Turtle Waxing the door jams today...
It didnt work for me.
I waxed the upper door frame area in all the places that the felt material would touch.
After some research, it turns out the actual big rubber piping seal on the door is my culprit.
On the passegers side rear door I can see marks of it rubbing.
I hit both the door & car piping with some vinyl protectant (Armor All).
Seems about 80% fixed. More to come as I drive to work tomorrow.
I have some specialty protectant coming will update more than...

I just coat it all with vaseline every 3-5 months and it has worked fine for me. I dont have these issues in any of my bimmers except for the E60. BTW before i get any vaseline will eat the rubber comments....do your research on this old myth. Vaseline has come a long way.

I had this problem but it was the felt piece on top of the doors, if you looked carefully you can see where it contacts the body by looking at the felt. I couldn't get my hands on the teflon tape that BMW uses as the dealer here didn't have any so I went and purchased the 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner and with a couple of clean paper towels cleaned the felt and also the portion of the car where the felt contacts and the noise has 100% disappeared and has been gone for well over a month.
