Default Creating a 535i

The E60 535i wasn't available in right hand drive or anywhere apart from the USA.
If I use a 09 530i with the N52 what would I need to be done apart from removing the N52 and fitting the N54?
Would it just be a matter of fitting the N54, which would bolt up to the N52 trans, fit a N54 DME and code the DME to the existing CAS, and change the vin in the DME to match the car?

There may be some other things that need changing ie lpfp, hoses etc but I haven't looked at realoem to check part numbers yet.

It wouldn't matter if the vin doesn't align to a 535i would it?

Thanks for any help

The N54 will kill the N52 trans and differential if not right away then over time. You would best to have a donor car for the drivetrain plus a full engine harness and ECU.

There are E90 chassis N52 cars that have been swapped with the N54 (usually wagons over here as we never got 335 wagons) so I would look into that as a parts/to-do list.

Also there are RHD N54 specific parts for the 3 series (turbos and piping etc) because of the steering shaft but not sure how much of that applies to the E6X chassis

I'm not worried about the drivetrain as that, for me, is the easy part and the N54 5 series isn't available here.
The coding to get everything working is the more difficult part
I will have to modify a E90 (or similar) wiring harness because the electrical box on a RHD car is where the brake booster/m/cyl is on a LHD car.
The motor I will use came from a RHD car so hopefully everything will fit, but I don't want to start the process of the conversion until I know what I've got to do regarding coding so everything functions correctly.
