I am currently experiencing a fairly annoying creaking coming from the rear window. The creaking sounds like ice rubbing tightly against rubber - and is only present on cold days..

At first I thought the noise was coming from the rubber seal/duct that is encloses the entire window (visible from the outside).. quite a lot of ice was clogged up into this duct. However, after having removed the ice and warmed the car up for over two days in a garage, the noise is persisting.

Has anyone experienced a similar squeaking/creaking?

Yeah, all the time. Some dealers have had success solving this, others (mine) haven't. It's gotten worse since it became cold here in Chicago.

Try mosturising the seal with Gummi Pfledge. It works for me, but only for a few days.

There's a fix where they use a silicon remover called Carbaflo. My dealer tried it twice. After the creaking came back the felty sill bits were replace. seems to have done the trick so far.

But now you have a creaking sound because of the sand on the rubber in your door, right?
