It could have been worse since he was drunk. Glad your ok. Now for your insurance claim maybe you can get some M5 fenders and front end?
At the moment not sure witch is the road we have to follow: repair or total loss depends on the expert visiting next week.

Did the police attent the scene and confirm he was above the permissible drinking level. If they did, then you are in the clear and this should not affect your insurance claims record at all.

Here in the UK the insurance should pay the market value of the car just before the accident. You can always dispitue any figure wih the i9nsurance. I did this by looking at adverts by private or trade sellers. They would ususally do the right thing especially if the car is less than 3 years old.

I am glad your are OK and that's all what matters. Goodluck with the car and I hope all works for the best.
car is just not 2 years old. I am taking a hit because the 2 years depreciate the car. So i am looking at 2O.OOO euro to pay out of my own pocket at least. But then i will have a new car with higher value. But if insurrence says repair and not total losss that is now my wurst nightmerre because then i drive a not so hot car. Even if repaired 1OO correctly : its still something i will know and the car is....well;.....not my baby anymore.

I am actually surprised the insurance is saying it is a repairable car! from the photos, it looks like a total loss. Also, since it is clearly established that it is not your fault, your insurance will claim off the other driver's insurance - so it won't cost them anything!! unless ofcourse both of you are insured by the same company then they'll fork out for both cars and will need to cut their loss to the minimum.

I believe that if the other driver was drunk, then his insurance policy is nul & void and he's on his own. That will teach him a lesson.

Don't you worry though, if they go for a repair, you can always Part-Ex the car for a newer one.

Then the hassle starts in reclaiming costs - unless you have an uninsured loss recovery facility.
