crash rating

In the latest autocar magazine it says the the E60 has got 4 stars with a number of modifications. But then it says that cars built before july 03 are 3 star and cars built after it is 4 star. How do i find out, what rating is my car?

I have exactly this question outstanding with BMW at the moment on my yet to be delivered 530D.
The only thing I spotted is if you go look at the detailed NCAP test page results they give a VIN number to which the rating applies. I assume this means if your VIN number is after that (I'm presuming VINs run serially) you have a 4 STAR car.

I know. But the crash test was just done again and they will probably have started with the mods after the test was better than the first one. Therefore I don't think yours is modified.

"The modifications only affect cars built after the autumn 2004 test, so any built between the September 2003 UK launch and this summer would probably only score three stars."
Where does it say July? Just said Summer and Autum... which month does that stand for?
