Recently had a bad snowstorm here in Denver. And in 4 degree weather, my windscreen cracked! About 10 inches long. Is this covered under my warranty? The car has less then 3000 miles. Thought I'd aask you guys before I went to the dealer with a stupid quesiton. Thanks.

Is there something defective that caused the crack??

Otherwise you need to claim this against your comprehensive insurance.

Do you mean your windshield? I just had mine replaced. It was an L shaped crack on the lower corner on the driver side. Apparantley their is a production problem and some of the cars have been getting stress cracks.

Got the same problem. My dealer has ordered a new windshield. It is being covered by warranty. BTW, I have about 3500 miles on he car.

As long as there is no visible damage from road debris etc, they should replace it under warranty as others above have noted. A number of folks have had their windsheilds crack for no obvious reason. Appears related to a defect in the glass or the maybe the flexibility of the car's frame.

I lived in Denver for awhile and if they are still spreading all that fish tank gravel on the roads in the winter the dealer may try to claim it was caused by a stone. Don?t most insurance companies around there strongly recommend the windshield replacement coverage? I had it for a couple of bucks a year but replacement was free!

My crack was in the exact place as Jared's with the exact shape. I called the dealer and service mgr said someone else just called with the same problem. I checked with my son's magnifying glass. There is no sign of a stone chip. Its a clear hairline crack.

I never knew this was a manufacture flaw, as someone mentioned. This site never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks guys.
