Yes sir we did.. I love it .. its just to bad we only can use it 30 times I think Hollywood and jiio's on their 29th time
I learned the hard way not to use Acceleration Assist 3x in a row. Not good for the car... The third time it did not row the gears for me in Manual mode.

Hollywood and Ice, I think we should practice using Manual mode and stop using AA.

Ah ha! I know what to do the next time. The same probably applies to SMG as it does to Step. No more Acceleration Assist for me.

I bet I can get better times minimizing my spins with a controlled motion of the throttle instead of mashing it.
You have the right idea.It took some practice to go easy on the gas. When your adrenalin is flowing it's hard not to stomp on the gas

Man, the times posted are rather disappointing. I've been dreaming, or more fantasizing probably, that since Grogan and Znod can get under 5 sec with their stock 545s that my Dinan equipped car could possibly do 4.7-4.8... oh well, guess the only way to find out is to test it myself. Need to dust that GMeter off.

Remember that Znod had some mods and he found they did not help at all.In fact I think he believes his car was a little slower with the mods.Check out the thread on Dinan engineering(I think its now in the Competition section). It sounds like they don't think there is much to gain from mods on the new computer contolled cars.

Oops I just checked it's in the parts & mods section on july 28.

I think you can still get close to Znod's and Grogan545's times if you actually started doing runs.

I think Grogan545 has the best advice by not stomping on the throttle whether you have a Step or SMG. Also, you have to remember that it was the first time that any of us did any timed runs. Our times will only get better. Wait for our times in 3 weeks. I bet you will see 5.0, 5.1, 5.2s consistently by the 545is and 550s. I won't be surprised if hollywood gets sub-5. As for iceman316, well he needs to fix his exhaust problem first before he gets sub-5s.

By the time I finally get around to doing some runs, 4.6 secs will probably be slow and I'll be beaten by a Corolla XRS or something.

Where's that Dinan engineering thread? Couldn't find it after looking throuhg 2 pages of the Competition forum.

Hey it sounds like you guys had a lot of fun.

Based on the weights you show, the 550i has a burden of 10.6 pounds per horsepower to the IS350's 11.5 lbs. So the 550i should be quicker than the IS350.

One thing to pay attention to when using a G-Tech meter is the pitch factor. This takes into account the amount of squat during acceleration. I think the factory setting is 2.0, which may be about right for our 545/550s with sport suspensions. However, the Lexus may not have as stiff a suspension as an E60 sport, and hence, may squat more during the runs. If this is the case the Lexus will show faster times on the G meter than it actually ran.

Guys like Znod, grogan545, and Wolverine know a lot more about this, so they can chime in and set the record straight if need be.

I don't mean to take anything away from the IS350 - it's a good looking machine with a ton of cool stuff and performance for the money. I can see why it is selling so well.

I'm going to do another run tonight Jiio, I'll keep you posted with the results

edit: oh yah, I'm also going to plug this thing into my friend's last generation S4, he just got bi-turbos installed.
