Great to see others testing their cars.Pretty impressive times for the IS350.I reviewed some of my test data and noted that when I had times similar to the 350 in the 1/8(8.75,81.5) my 1/4 times were in the 13.40s at over 104 mph.It appears the IS350 falls off some at the upper end. When I tested at temps below 65F I had many runs 0-60 in under 5.00 secs, and 1/4 times in the 13.30s and 13.40s.If this was the first time testing with the G timer you guys did good. With some experimenting with different starting methods I think you all would see improvement.I found for my 545 step the best method is DTC/DTS off, brake torque to about 1000 rpm, release brake and slowly go to full throttle. This method gives me the best 60' times and no wheelspin.
Hi grogan. You and Z still take the cake with the G-meter.

I really have to work on this wheelspin stuff

I suspect this shows mainly that the SMG isn't as quick as the step in terms of straight line acceleration. Znod etc have hit sub 5 in a 545 and I suspect a step 550 would be a shade quicker still. But that's a phenomenal time in the IS350, EBMCS03

Ya I'm too guessing it'll fall behind in triple digits... it is a V6 in the end and only 270 TQ. But then if we start from 0 mph I think the IS 350 will get ahead enough for the 545 to really have to fight to catch up even in the triple digits.

I want to run in cooler temperature. We knew the heat would have affected the times but since everyone was running under the same heat we got a good comparison on what each car can do.

I'm sure I can shave off a little time if I practice lauching. Impressive none the less 5.00 flat in 80 degrees even if the G-timer is off its still impressive!

Hollywood! Lets do a run!!

You mean you're gonna sell both the G35 and your 525i for the 550i right?

I got 3.9secs j/k I actually got 5.9 sec because I have absolutely no backpressure and an exhaust leak in the back. I know its excuses but I'm gonna get another glasspack installed next week hopefully it'll help build some backpressure but we'll see.. If that doesn't help then i'm gonna change out my whole exhaust piping to a 2 1/4inch pipes and if that still doesn't help then i'm gonna go get myself an IS350 Had a great time today guys.. lets meet up again soon
