Update 09/16/06: Run number 2. Against a 550i Step: See post 258: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry335258

Original Run:
Well couple of us got together and did some G meter runs today. We did 1/4 mile runs.

No racing just G meter. The owner of the road that we used I guess didnt want us to do any runs with each other and we figured that was best so we just did single runs with G-Meter... It was good. An eye openner for all of us.

Participants were,

jiio(545 SMG), EBMCS03(IS350 Auto), hollywoodtrash(550 SMG), iceman316(550 SMG), bmw4life(G35 Auto), Tblax545i(545 Step)

Here are some pics.

I guess I'll try to list everyone approximate time to the best I can remember feel free to chime in anyone that remebers their best time. I'm not sure if I should post icemans time. It was too quick.

The weather was sunny and temp was about 80 according to my car.

Here are the times.

Looks like the IS 350 is close to M3 territory... Now I guess those that have said that they've beaten M3s on the road I'm starting to believe them. I mean if the M3 makes any kind of mistake the M3's toast.

So there you have it. What do you think Znod?

Ok Eric. No more messing with IS'

I had way too many runs with those damn quick cars I must admit, they can keep up.

I wanna try another run with the G-meter, I remember my time 0-60 5.27 1/4 mile 13.80 Looks like I have to borrow a set of 18'' lightweights from my cousins work and do another test run haha. If road & track can hit 5.0 I don't see why our 550's can't.

What the hell Jiio? 5.6???!?!?! come on!! hahahhaah jk

Goodtimes today

Great to see others testing their cars.Pretty impressive times for the IS350.I reviewed some of my test data and noted that when I had times similar to the 350 in the 1/8(8.75,81.5) my 1/4 times were in the 13.40s at over 104 mph.It appears the IS350 falls off some at the upper end. When I tested at temps below 65F I had many runs 0-60 in under 5.00 secs, and 1/4 times in the 13.30s and 13.40s.If this was the first time testing with the G timer you guys did good. With some experimenting with different starting methods I think you all would see improvement.I found for my 545 step the best method is DTC/DTS off, brake torque to about 1000 rpm, release brake and slowly go to full throttle. This method gives me the best 60' times and no wheelspin.
