I have a 07 550i (base model) and I'm in need of a starter. the Indy shop I went to said it would be around $1270 bc it' a 7hr job and they have to remove the exhaust manifold. does this sound liike a good price??
oh might as well ask you all about a price and job for the water pump and therost... also

They have to remove the inlet manifold not the exhaust
It’s a pretty easy job and it won’t take you too long if you are handy with tools
It took me less than two hours
The same goes with the water pump and thermostat
Of course the price of the starter will change depending on which band you buy

That price is in line with paying a shop to do it.
