As for BMW, it is great to have a choice between rear and awd. They should and certainly will continue to offer both on an expanding model range. Something like 36% of the 530's sold are AWD, which is strong considering the extra cost. We can all get what makes us happy and only the Audi sales department suffers.
BTW, I think the RWD 5 Series are fantastic. A close friend has one and is nice enough to let me get behind the wheel. I love it.
