Conti Tire Problem

Item that might help others.
I had stock rear Conti's put on my 525 in November (24,000 miles on the old set). Later I noticed the car handled oddly -- there was a thrumming under the seat (usually indicates badly balanced tires), but also the car steered badly. The steering was sloppy; kind of like a typical large American sedan. Only occurred at high speeds -- cruising at 75-85 mph.
Finally took it back. The dealer found the new tires were defective. They balanced dynamically, but when placed under an applied load on the machine the balancing went out of whack. The dealer no-cost replaced them under warrantee and the problem went away.
So, if you've had Conti's replaced in the last few months and the steering seems odd, you might want to have them chacked.
Cheers
