Hey guys,

I was trying to find online, what exactly do I need to install aux input to my iDrive (simple one, just reads CDs..), but no luck.. Do I just need some cable, that plugs into back of CD player? Or how that works..

Thank you.

Ramunas.

It has to be a retro fit by the dealer with programming as stated above... Got mine done - approx $400 parts and labor.

Holyshit. I hope an hour massage or some other perks were included. It's a $75 part and an hour or less of labor to install.

They charged me 275 on my old 545 and it didn't work...I had to take it back the second time. All was good after that. Oh on the cable side you are on your own you have to y external cable either from stealer or eBay.

Actually now that I remember correctly, it was $285 when all was said and done. And I will say it again, I love it. And as for the cable, its just a simple 3.5mm jack on each end - Radio Shack.

Thank you guys for your responces. If it needs coding, I just might go to dealer and check the price for cable too. Thanks again!

And atleast some tyco pins.

But to be fair the OEM cable comes with the protection electronics in the cable (which most people cut out!) and the fascia plate etc. Not saying is value for money just trying to say its more than a stereo socket.

Huh? I think he is talking about the cable that goes from the Aux Input to the mp3 player... I am sure there is a specific cable you can buy that will plug into the pins on the bottom of your mp3 player, but I am not sure it will serve a purpose with the aux input... and what fascia plate?

Here is my aux input in the glovebox. All you need is a two ended 3.5mm cord to plug aux into mp3 player.
