Condition Based Servicing? Hmmmm... Help Please!

Took my car in for an MOT test today (statutory roadworthyness test for our US cousins ) - rear brake pads were down to less than a mm despite iDrive saying 7000 miles until they needed servicing.

Hmmm. And given that I have maintenance this irks me even more, as I shouldn't be paying for it!

Anyway, I got the garage that did the test to change the pads (because I need the car and don't have time to mess about), but when I reset the service indicator it has now gone to -15,000m service overdue

Any ideas? They seem to have put a wear sensor on the invoice... How can I check if they actually changed it/it's ok?

I had a similar issue, mine went to -9000 miles. took it to the dealer and discovered that the garage i bought the car from hadnt replaced the wear sensor, not sure how easy to check did they use a genuine part?

Do I need to remove the wheel to get to the sensor or is it do-able by reaching under the car?

Don't get a bloody jack with these run-flats

I recon you'd need to remove the wheel to see, the problem could also be if they havent fitted a genuine part.
