I'm just getting used to this condition based servicing and want to check with the forum how they find it. I had my first oil change at about 15000 miles in December. The car now is saying a service is due and the Brake Fluid needs changing (?123 at the local dealer). I then checked and could see the microfilter would need changing in a further 4300 miles, the rear brakes in 7000 and the front brakes in 9000. Based on this I could be in the at dealer 5 times within a year unless I get it all done at once - and hence the question - how often are you going to the garage based on what the car thinks it needs?

Cheers

Yeah - I am wondering about this to. In my e46 diesel I managed an oil change at 22,000 miles and a full service at 46,000 miles. The brake bads needed doing at the 46,000 one, but the discs(rotors) were fine, which amazed me as I normally end up wearing the pads so thin they score the discs.

For me the extended service interval was great news as I clocked up the 46K miles in 18months.

But.. with the e60 it all seems to be split up .... I like my dealer, but I don't want to spend too much time there.

2 times a year! It should be 1 time every 2 years or 30.000 km's

I think it's pretty useless this way. I've just got the microfilter changed today, and got 9000 km to oil service now....

It can be hard to tell because the counters often change their mind! I've got service inclusive and I know the dealer won't do things before they are due... Depending on the item some things could be left for a little while, e.g. the microfilter until the brakes are due. But don't leave the brakes

I think the CBS works great with the Service Inclusive but if you're paying your own servicing every time then it's probably not the best solution. However, both ways the car is at the dealer more, surely!

will it void your warranty if you put off servicing it?

My dealer was prepared to amalgamate some items if they were due soon.

I had oil change at 15,000 in Early February.

CBS says brake fluid change in May and is showing service in 6,000?

I am sure it will stay at 6000 miles for the next 9000 miles !!
