BTW, you took delivery of your new 535 already?
Got call from dealer today saying cars is in the country and should be ready for pick up on 29/03/05. All new cars have to stand in a field for at least a week!
Can't wait to get it, went to another dealer today hopefully trying see new week 9 model - still nothing.

This may be a stupid question!, but I am sure my car has old software which could be improved with an upgrade, eg no TMC/mirrors do not automatically fold/+ other benefits I have read posts about. Do BMW dealers in Uk upgrade free of charge to later software ?, or do they charge for this. I have called service before regarding TMC & basically was told that as it has never worked, it is not a fault, so I was kind of fobbed off. I wasn't too bothered so didn't pursue it. But could I insist on upgrade so that the car works to its full potential?

Software upgrades for additional features are not for free. But if you want an upgrade to have the newest and improved software, just tell them your idrive freezes from time to time, or describe some other known bugs. Then they will upgrade the software to solve the problem, what is covered under warranty...
The DSC+ is NOT a software update!!

is this included as standart on all models/transitions?
i mean, its not really necessary - ive been able to do this ever since about a two days after i started driving - and do it uncontiously in all my cars (volvo v70, bmw 750iL and X3).
its never been a problem before, and if it aint broke - should we really be trying to fix it?

Anyone got a week 9 delivery spec car yet with all the mods?
I'm interested to know what "Comfort Stop" is like. (The system that releases the brakes split seconds before the car comes to a halt making the ride less jerky for passengers.)

I don't know about your car, but on mine, coming to a complete stop is very rough. No matter how soft a feel I have for the brakes, the brakes "stick" at the end causing a significant jerk...Never had any similiar problem on any of my BMWs B4.
Yes mine does the same. On stopping the front end doesn't seem to give at all (Dive) making the whole procedure rather abrupt. I think the sports suspension makes it worse.

Going back to the sport suspension comment - it makes perfect sense since the Active Roll Stabilization/Dynamic Drive controls dive and other body motions.

BMW are just showing us that with the introduction of "soft stop" they can be just as good with the refinement side of things as they are with the sporting side of the five series .
