My salesman told me that the Comfort seats were a waste of money. All i was getting was adjustable side bolsters. Frankly after 18,000 miles, I think the sports seats are just a bit too hard. Several of my passengers complain especially about getting in and out with the thigh support impaling you. Comfort seats will be a must next time around. I am as much of an enthusiast as any one on this forum but cannot argue when I am told that the Acura RL is more comfortable or for that matter the Honda Odyssey. Just because it handles like a dream doesn't mean it should give you a butt ache. Comfort seats next time for sure.

Perfect!
Now you can see what you want! I mean the sport seats obviously come closer to the m5 seats more than the confort seats. You can easily see the suport that the sport seats provide (especially on the thy area and on the shoulder area upper side). It's a choice of personal tastes and body conformations.

Obviously? Are you crazy. You can't really tell anything by those pictures. The comfort seats lateral support is all the way open - as it always is when no one is in the car. You can't even see the thigh support on the comfort seats. If anything, the M5 looks like it has a split backrest adjustment like the comfort seats. I believe the M5 seats have the same adjustments as a comfort seat - presumably with a slightly firmer seat overall - and probably better thigh lateral support than comfort seat. As the driver, I don't really see the need for thigh lateral support - Your legs are being used and pressed hard while in the twisties. Now the passenger might like it but most people (well passengers) do not enjoy getting on the hard lateral thigh supports.

Well...i think you can tell smth from the pics. I like the thigh support on the sport seats (it's just perfect for me, not too wide so i can roll when hard cornering and not too narrow to start bothering me on long trips, again it has smth to do with the weight of the driver). From what i know the thigh support on confort seats, isn't adjustable. Correct me if i'm wrong! AND if you can't see from those pictures from this topic, the confort seats obviously have a more relaxed thigh support...well...it's not my fault!

And you can really tell smth from the pics...call me crazy, but i marked my points on the pictures.

Sombody with sport seats please comment about the adjustability of the head rest. Does it in fact pivot fore and aft in addition to up and down? The one I sat in on a 530 did not seem to do so. Is the 550 headrest sport seat different from the 530?

I'll never understand this. Why should a headrest move forward and backward? The driver should sit pretty straight and with this correct position the headrest should be in the right position by construction - for an accident! :'(
The headrest is not for comfort while driven. I can't understand this feature for the driver (for passengers it's a different point).

to the question: the headrest can't be moved forwared or backward. As far as I know it's also not possible with comfort seats. You can just adjust the "wings" there.

It is very comfortable on my 2001 540 whether I am supposed to use it or not.
