Hi - Another question as I await delivery of my 530:

I ordered comfort access. I have seen some photos that show the new start/stop button and what looks like a plug in the steering column where the tradtional starting mechanism would have been. This is pretty ugly. Any idea if the comfort access steering column will be a little more polished?

TKS!!

Good question. Probably so - the key hole will be there.

I really doubt it. I think the hole will still be there to give you the option of using the key.

I haven't paid too much attention to comfort access and don't really know what it entails. Somebody care to provide a summary on exactly what it does?

You mean the key hole? You need the key for all of that stuff you mention. It has to be in your possession.

The hole is to give you the option of inserting it (I guess). Maybe it's a back-up if the car loses the "sensing ability" (maybe that runs on batteries). So you could still insert it.

The key fob has to be with you (in your pocket, briefcase, etc.) since the car needs to communicate with it to allow you access to the car. And it has a removable metal key in it in case the battery dies.

Plus ,if you get in and want to listen to the radio without starting the car, maybe you have to stick it in and turn one turn. ?????
