Hi Everyone,
I have a 2007 550i, Comfort access is not working on one door, Dealer says it is the door handle carrier. I have ordered the part, but need to figure out how to access this part, is it from outside? or perhaps from the inside (taking off door panel) etc. Thank you in advance.

This page might help: http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/e60/530i_(M54)_SAL/Body_equipment/front_door_locks,_handles,_fittings/

Not sure what part you have to replace but I believe you are speaking of this one:

Did the work today, replace both the outer carrier as well as the door lock actuator, put the door back together (all functions ok) but still did not solve the non functional Comfort Access on that particular door.

Does it need to be programmed or coded at the dealer for it to start working? I read somewhere that it has too.

You'll most likely need to encode the vehicle. Actually I'm curious as to when this started. How do you know it was actually the door handle carrier?
Comfort Access should still have worked unless you're remote doesn't work and you're opening by the door handles. Are you sure your remote is ok?
