Firm believer in updating (and wish more people did it), and the $50.00 eBay diversity antenna fixed the problem. CAS works perfectly now. Not sure of range, but I can lock and unlock the car from inside the house and I can hold the key as far towards the front of the car that I can reach and use the door handles to lock/unlock. Thanks for the help.

did you open up the old one to see if it looked corroded at all?

 

Old one actually looked better than the "new" one. Not a single spot of corrosion nor anything burnt. Looked perfect. Here is the one I bought.

As additional info, I tried the whole "disconnect the battery for 15 minutes" routine to no avail. I "hot swapped" the eBay part, meaning battery was hooked up and as soon as I plugged it in, all was good.
