I don't think the memory seating adjust your steering wheel because mine doesn't seem to work.

The key memory works great with a key since you have to press open on the keyfob to have your settings take effect. What about with comfort access? I assume as you walk up to the car, the car senses your key and adjusts the settings. But what happens if both you and your wife, each with their own keyfob in hand, get to the car at the same time. Which settings take effect?

Thanks,
Dave

It should do it if you have power steering wheel adjustments.

"Yeah...almost all the settings change depending on who's fob you use to enter the car...seats, mirrors, radio stations, heat settings, steering wheel, and probably alot more too!"

It should also remember the gearbox setting and all other iDrive adjustments.

Hey denuyl, please send in some pics!!!

If your wheel is all the way up then it won't adjust. Also this applies to the standard remote when you unlock the car. It's part of the key memory not comfort access.

I hate to be a party pooper, but the key does not remeber your settings - it remembers the last setting used by that key.

So, for example if you give you key to your wife, and she uses it and moves up the seat then drives and gives you the key back then your key now has her settings.

The memeory seat positions never change though.

I know the manual also says that mirrors and steering wheel are also controlled but this has not been my experience - but the radio stations definitely

Which is exactly why BMW gives you stickers to mark each key with

I've found that whoever opens the driver's door are the settings it will go to. So, if for instance, my wife opens the passenger door, or rear door, while I open my driver's door, it goes to my settings. But if my wife (for some odd reason, opens my door, then it will go to hers.

The best thing we did was to place 2 memory settings for each key fob. I always have #2, she always has #1...thus if any of our keys get transposed, all we really have to do is push the memory setting to get it back to normal.

sweet! You mean with comfort access the seat adjusts automatically as well? That's pretty slick

Comfort access or no CA - BMW key fobs make adjustments to those whom are the primary holders of that key once the initial settings were made - seat, mirros, wheel, etc.

I hate to comment on this without checking and I have not used it enough to notice, but I think each key also sets, in addition to the seat setting, the last used setting for your steering wheel, side rear view mirrors, radio channal and a/c setting.
Pretty much everything but your driving style is converted back
