Same here, tons of rattles, creaks during my communte over "excellent" DE roads on cold mornings. My E39 never did this, my wife's Subaru is also dead silent on the same roads....
So are these BMW parts in southern Texas for development.
Anyone at BMW heard of cold temps

I will complain this Saturday. It has only gotten worse for me and it is getting really irritating. I go up the parking ramp and it creaks - sounds like the doorframe?

Topaz - Sorry for the delayed reply. I'll be going in soon enough - my wife's car is due for her an oil change. I'll talk to Dave, and then go bug Dan and Scott just for fun.

Robert -
I worked with Scott/Dan as well. I stopped by the dealership yesterday to look into ordering an M5 and mentioned the problems to Dan. Do you want to be the first guinea pig or would you like me to? Also, Have you had the software updated to support MP3 yet? I have noticed that there are a few distinct creaks (one by the windshield, some from around the doors, one by the rear seat, and the glove box sometimes).

Lastly - M5!? With its limited slip differential, and some decent winter tires, you won't need to 530xi anymore.

I have noticed that between boot lid and window have often ice what makes noise, like between bonnet and windshield. When all that is gone also noise is gone. I have stand-by heating so that will melt snow on glass and make it accumulate between those two surfare.

either to the Swedish or Finnish parts of it.
For those who do not know Lappland is a vast area wish includes northern parts of
Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
I think BMW goes to up to the Swedish Lappland.
Mayby they should bring some more quality time up there

A lot of winter tire testing is also done in the Finnish Lappland, in Ivalo.

This problem does not affect BMW alone. I had exactly the same problems with my previous E-Class and it creaked in very cold periods / very hot periods, but nothing inbetween.
Luckly so far I have not experianced it in the E60, and for us the tempreture has been much colder this winter.
