My Ride: 2005 530d
My manual 530d 05 has recently started to grumble under acceleration in 5th 6th and just yesterday i felt the clutch pedal vibrating when i press it lightly.
No clutch slipping or other symptoms as yet. The car is out of warranty with BMW but has a aftermarket warranty that came with the car.
It has 52,000 miles or 83,000km on it by the way.
What is the likely diagnosis and the odds of the warranty covering the repair.?
I will be leaving it into my local indy next week or would i be better leaving it to BMW and hoping for some 'goodwill' or am i dreaming?
It seems problem after problem recently and fell like selling up but the market is crazy at present.
whats the odds i will be told general 'wear and tear' 99% or 100%

Most 530d's come with the automatic trans do to the horrible torgue
and the 535dA cannot even be bought as a manual, just guess why.
I'm not surprised at all if a manual 530d's clutch is about to blow at
close to 100,000 km's.
The same goes for the 535i, 545i and 550i manual transmission clutches.
The transmission itself don't even need a oil change, but the clutch...

BMW should wake up and figure out it needs to put a proper cluth and flywheel in its large, high hp/tq sedans.
I have owned an E39 M5 and E60 550i and replaced the clutch in the M5 and the clutch/flywheel in the E60. I can assure you that I am an experienced driver of manual cars and claim both replacements were due to inferior design/products rather than driver error or abuse. You will find many E39 M5 drivers who will agree with this and if researched a fair number of E60 owners as well.
In both of my replacements, I still had a valid warranty and the dealer stepped up. I have heard of some dealers refusing to replace under warranty claiming driver abuse on a "wear" item. It depends on your relationship with your dealer in many cases.
Good luck with you replacement.

how many miles on your 550 before clutch had to be replaced?
Just curious to see how long the clutch in 545/550 last before need to be replaced.
