Hi to everyone on the forums, great information here, keep up the good work.

I have just brought a 2004 e60 530d, from independant dealer and everything was ok until yesterday. When I locked the car I went into the house but after a hour I went to throw some rubbish away. As in london it is raining all the time, I look into the car and saw that the cluster lights if that is the right term between the two dails was still on. No matter what I try it wont go off, I am worried that this will drain my battery and not even sure what is going on? The dealer has given me warranty but does not cover this. There is a code on there saying: 01.00 FGSTNR B333317. Now I understand from reading the fourm that this is something to do with the hidden menu right? Any ideas what is happening? I know the sensor on the airbag is faulty would this affect this?

Thx

Welcome to the forums!

Just an idea but maybe the little switch (where you reset the trip odometer) on the lower left corner of the cluster has jammed on pushed position. Because if you press it long enough, the code you mentioned will come visible .

Hi thx for that, I went out just now to check but no i can push it in, it was fine before and I have not pushed in the swtich since I have brought it. Its funny that you mention that as I cant get the date or temp to come on, the only time it comes on is when the key is in postion 1???

Ok.

Try disconnecting the battery (minus cable is enough) for a half an hour, then reconnect it and see if that helps.
