Default Clunk when accelerating... 1st and sometime 2nd gear.

Wassup,
Pretty much today I noticed a clunk when I accelerate hard in first gear and on a hard shift into second it is coming from somewhere in the front of the car. I do not feel the clunk during normal acceleration and shifts or going over bumps. Clunk isnt apparent during braking at all. Only when I mash the gas in first and also if I shift quickly from first to second. Happens everytime I gun it I can step on the gas moderately and not feel it. Anyone have any ideas? Yes, I did do a search. Recently switched to coils all top mounts are brand new. Appreciate the help.

Try this thread. 05 545i Transmission Surging Issues help! - Bimmerfest - BMW Forums. Also make sure that they torqued down the top hat bolt for your CO's. When the shop did my V2's one of them wasn't and it would clunk at times.

Im pretty sure its not a tranny issue I have a 6speed. I did the install myself and was also thinking I didnt torque the front to the spec. I thought I read the intructions wrong I torqued the rear to 40 nm but may have also done the fronts to 40 instead of the 50nm it called for could 10nm off be that much of an issue?

Where does the noise appear to be emanating from: front, middle, or rear of car?

Thought I put that in there, it's most definitely the front of the car w/o a doubt

Torqued everything down to spec no change... I think im just going to take it to my indy to diagnose the problem and fix it myself. Right now it'll be a guess.
