Hello ... Long Time Listener, First Time Caller ...

I know this isn't quite the apples to apples comparison ....

But how does the CLK compare to the E60 in terms of "fun" ...

I'm coming from a 2005 330ci (ZHP) and looking a upgrade ...

I really don't need the 4doors of the e60 but I've driven sport / dynamic / premium 545i and it feels great ...
I haven't driven the CLK but have sat in it ... reviews are great but i'm a little concerned about 14MPG i'm hearing ...

Look wise ... the e60 looks mean as hell with the Mkit even when compared to the AMG pack of the CLK ...
Price for both vehicles is approximately the same ... I'm just looking for a fast / fun / luxury vehicle ...

Any experiences???

Thanks!

I went for a prolonged test drive in a CLK63 (close enough to a CLK550). It was FAST, but I didn't like the handling and the steering was too light.

I have driven both the CLK 430 and 320 and was not to impressed with the ride and handling. The 430 has some pep, in my opinion it did not even compare to the 545/550 with looks, handling and acceleration. Now, the CLK 550 from what I have read is as fast or faster to 60, but when the twisties come....guess who dominates!!!!

I have a 2007 CLK 550 (which my wife drives). Other than the fact that the CLK can be fun in the summer (it is a convertible), I do not think there is any comparison between the cars.

I had 2003 CLK55 AMG Conv and it was a great car but only in a straight line, I bought it to replace a 911 but went back quickly.

BMW will out handle the CLK all day long.
