My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.

No quite, the iDrive gives a lot more options in the LCI AC than in the non-LCI.

The looks are the same, but the buttoms have new functions within them.

Exactly. Which is why when he asked for a picture, I said they look the same. He didn?t ask about functionality!

Assuming that the original writer lives from America.

In Europe the standard AC looked like this in a non-LCI (upper pic),
and looks like this (lower pic) in the LCI.

Here is a close up of the LCI controls. There are nice "short cut" buttons into iDrive climate settings. Similar but a little better than the '04-'07

On my 2007 you can press in the middle of the temperture dials for recirc with heat and max cool. What do the ones on the 2008 do? They look different.

The left and right buttons are short cuts into the iDrive air distribution menu. Use the left button to get to the center vent temp. The center button sets full auto and goes into the air intensity menu. The residual heat is done by twisting the fan speed, Max is now a button to the right of center.
