Thumbs up

I've adjusted my vents via iDrive to direct more air to my feet, but everytime I turn the car off (and it goes to sleep), when I restart it, the setting are back to the default.

What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't the stay the way I set them instead of returning to the default?

That is strange. Mine stays set.
Are you sure you're on "auto" when changing the settings?

Yes, I aways have "auto" on.

Do you think this is overriding my settings?

I thought auto controls the temperature and not the location/amount of air going to the feet?

The "Auto" mode controls the amount and direction of airflow. The temp is controlled by the temp dials on the dash. How quickly you want to reach your set temp is determined by the hot/cold setting in i-drive.

Confused?? Yes, but you get used to it after a while.

Try this simple experiment:
1. Make sure you are in "Auto" - the green light on the dash is lit up.
2. Go to the vent setting, note where things are automatically set at, and change the airflow (for driver or pass - doesn't matter)
3. See how the "Auto" light goes off??
4. Now still staying in the vent settings window, turn on Auto again.
5. See how the vent setting change??

Hope this help

basically, auto mode = you can't adjust anything.

if you want your own settings, don't use auto mode.

This is partially true. You can still adjust the temp dial setting, and of course the hot/cold setting in i-drive.
